Experimental Investigation of the Distortion of Colour Harmony

چکیده

Colour harmony plays an important role in fine arts, architecture and design. But it can be also important to describe the quality of light sources: the distortion of perceived colour harmony of a set of colour samples under a light source can be a relevant factor by ranking the perceived colour quality of different light sources. In an earlier experimental study[1], we came to the conclusion that colour harmony impression decreased significantly by changing our reference light source to a white LED lamp consisting of a cluster of RGB LEDs of unusual spectral power distribution. A possible reason of this phenomenon was claimed to be that there were very different and non-systematic colour shifts, concerning both magnitudes and directions among the samples[1].
